50 MedTech Innovator 2017 Showcase Companies Announced!
50 Startups Selected to Present in MedTech Innovator Showcase
at The MedTech Conference in San Jose
Los Angeles (May 25, 2017) – MedTech Innovator, the industry’s leading nonprofit global competition and accelerator, today announced the 50 early-stage companies selected to participate in the MedTech Innovator Showcase, an exhibition of the cutting-edge innovations to be presented at The MedTech Conference Sept. 25 to 27 in San Jose, Calif.
Powered by the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) in partnership with AdvaMed Accel, the association’s small company division, The MedTech Conference is the premier gathering for leaders and entrepreneurs in the medical device and diagnostics industry.
The 50 companies were chosen from nearly 600 applicants to the 2017 MedTech Innovator competition. They will present during 11 interactive sessions on a special stage in The MedTech Conference exhibit hall, with each session featuring four or five companies under a common technology theme. The Showcase companies also benefit from scholarships for full-access registration to the conference and use of MedTech Connect partnering to set up valuable meetings.

This opportunity at the industry’s largest gathering, and in Silicon Valley no less, provides wonderful exposure to a wide cross-section of the medtech innovation ecosystem.”
During the San Jose conference, the 50 Showcase companies will join the 50 other companies selected as this year’s MedTech Innovator Top 100 at the AdvaMed Accel Leadership Seminar on Sept. 25. All of the Top 100 companies were invited to take part in the seminar because they were identified as being of strategic interest to the medtech industry via a series of competitive stages in the 2017 MedTech Innovator program. The seminar will feature a preliminary MedTech Innovator competition during which the audience will choose the winner of an Execution Award and the Virginia Shimer Rybski Memorial Award.

Twenty of the Showcase companies will participate in MedTech Innovator’s four-month accelerator program, which gives these outstanding companies the opportunity to receive continual in-depth, customized mentorship from senior leaders in the industry. Four finalists will be chosen from this group to compete in the finals on the plenary stage in San Jose, where they will present their technologies and compete for $500,000 in cash and prizes, awarded based on a live audience vote.

The MedTech Conference will be held Sept. 25 to 27 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif., bringing together more than 1,000 companies to collaborate in business development, capital formation, innovative technology showcasing, world-class educational opportunities and networking.
