MedTech Innovator Opens Applications for 2022 Global Showcase and Accelerator Program

Annual cohort features the top 50 medical technology startups from around the world

LOS ANGELES, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 – MedTech Innovator, the largest accelerator of medical devices in the world, today announced that it is now accepting applications from startups and emerging growth companies for its annual Accelerator and Showcase program, which will award up to $500,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2022. There is no application fee, and no equity is required from participating companies.

MedTech Innovator’s four-month program features 50 of the industry’s best-in-class medical technologies from around the globe. In 2022, there will be several opportunities for the companies to gain unparalleled exposure to industry executives and decision-makers through online application reviews, pitch sessions, mentoring, conference showcases, and live competitions.

“At MedTech Innovator our mission is to improve the lives of patients by accelerating the growth of companies that are transforming the healthcare system,” said Paul Grand, CEO of MedTech Innovator. “This year is no different as we continue our search for the top medical device, digital health, and diagnostic companies and match them with healthcare industry leaders for mentorship and support. With help from our industry partners, we look forward to advancing more transformative products towards commercialization and into the hands of the patients and physicians who need them.”

Applications are reviewed by more than 200 executives and professionals from dozens of leading companies, including manufacturers, providers, and investors such as Johnson & Johnson, RCT Ventures, Asahi Intecc, BD, Dexcom, Edwards Lifesciences, Fujikura, Jabil Healthcare, Maxim Integrated Ventures, NIPRO Medical Corp., Olympus Medical Systems Group, W.L Gore & Associates, and many more. The top applicants will be invited to present at one of MedTech Innovator’s virtual pitch events in the spring of 2022.

“We are excited about the opportunity to continue to mentor and support the companies who are selected for the 2022 cohort with a goal of helping to address critical gaps in today’s healthcare system,” said Susan Morano, vice president, business development and strategic operations for Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies. “Johnson & Johnson is committed to helping patients by accelerating transformative healthcare solutions that improve the current standard of care.”

More than 1,100 companies applied to participate in the 2021 program, which culminated with a final competition on September 29 during The MedTech Conference powered by AdvaMed. Five finalists were selected from the Accelerator program to compete in the grand finale and a live audience vote selected Alva Health as the 2021 Global Competition winner.
