AdvaMed CEO Scott Whitaker Joins Board of MedTech Innovator
WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 17, 2019 –
The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) today announced that President and CEO Scott Whitaker has been named to the Board of Directors of MedTech Innovator (MTI), the industry’s preeminent nonprofit global competition and accelerator organization for medical device, digital health, and diagnostic companies.
“It’s an honor to join the Board of MedTech Innovator. MTI’s mission couldn’t be better aligned with AdvaMed’s and the industry’s mission to expand patient access to the most innovative medical technology out there,” said Scott Whitaker, AdvaMed president and CEO.

AdvaMed Accel Executive Director Ashley Wittorf is stepping down from the MTI Board after nearly three years of service, as Scott Whitaker takes the Board seat.
“Ashley has done a tremendous job on the MTI Board,” said Whitaker. “She and her team have helped establish AdvaMed’s strong relationship with MTI, creating opportunities for our organizations to work together to help the world’s most promising emerging companies get their products to the patients who need them.”
On Sept. 23-25, for the fifth year in a row, The MedTech Conference powered by AdvaMed will co-host the MedTech Innovator Showcase and Finals competition. This year, the showcase and finals event will feature 50 leading startups on the main stage, giving attendees of The MedTech Conference in Boston – including potential investors and partners – a compelling glimpse of the latest cutting-edge medical technologies. As part of the exciting finale, the audience will decide the winners of over $500K in prizes, and the title of MedTech Innovator 2019.
