MedTech Innovator Opens Applications for 2021 Global Showcase and Accelerator Programs

Annual Cohort to Feature the Top 50 Medical Technology Startups From Around the World

LOS ANGELES, December 7, 2020 – MedTech Innovator, the largest accelerator of medical devices in the world, today announced a call for startups and emerging growth companies to apply to its annual Accelerator and Showcase programs, which will award up to $500,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. The deadline to apply for the General Accelerator program is January 15, 2021. There is no application fee, and no equity is required from participating companies.

MedTech Innovator’s four-month Accelerator and Showcase programs feature 50 of the industry’s best-in-class medical technologies from around the globe. In 2021, there will be several opportunities for the companies to gain unparalleled exposure to industry executives and decision-makers through online application reviews, pitch sessions, mentoring, conference showcases, and live virtual competitions.

“From its inception, MedTech Innovator has worked to bring the world’s best ecosystem to entrepreneurs who are poised to bring meaningful change to the health care industry and transform the way patients are cared for through innovation,” said Paul Grand, founder and CEO of MedTech Innovator. “As the largest medical device accelerator in the world, we’ve established a strong track record of matching emerging growth companies with key leaders in the industry for personalized mentorship and support. With the help of our network of industry partners, we look forward to identifying the best and brightest startups in medical technology and arming them with the right tools to succeed.”

More than 1,000 companies applied to participate in the 2020 program, which culminated with a final competition on October 6 during The Virtual MedTech Conference, powered by AdvaMed. Five finalists were selected from the Accelerator program to compete in the grand finale, in which a live audience vote selected Rhaeos as the 2020 Global Competition winner.

Applications are reviewed by more than 200 executives and professionals from dozens of leading companies, including manufacturers, providers, and investors such as Johnson & Johnson, RCT Ventures, Baxter, Asahi Intecc, Edwards Lifesciences, Fujikura, NIPRO Medical Corp., Olympus Medical Systems Group, W.L Gore & Associates, Inc., and many more. The top applicants will be invited to present at one of MedTech Innovator’s virtual pitch events in the spring of 2021.
