Drug therapy is the foundation for physicians to treat psychiatric indications. In the developed world, psychiatric drugs are prescribed at staggering levels, giving rise to societal level implications. This is highly problematic as psychiatric drugs have limited efficacy while high on side effects. An alternative to drugs for psychiatric indications would be a welcome advance for the world.
We developed a neurostimulation device that uses transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to treat psychiatric and neurological conditions. The product can also improve cognition in healthy individuals. We have democratized technology that has historically been only offered to trained neuroscientists such that now just about anyone can benefit from wearable neurostimulation.
