Respira wins NIH grant

“Ever since I left #plasticsurgery, I promised myself I’ll thrive as a Principal Investigator under my own terms outside academia. Today, we were notified that was chosen out of 103 applicants in the US (three winners, only female and Latino led) to be awarded The Center for Advancing Point of Care in Heart, Lung, Blood and Sleep Diseases❤️🫁🩸 $110K prize, making it our 4th grant in less than two years🎉

Although there’s a faster growth of #women, #black and #latinos applying for grants, the funding rate remains significantly less than that for men or other ethnicities. Representation matters, especially when you’re building products that anyone should access. Respiratory diseases affect more socially disadvantaged groups, we’re committed to leveling the playing field💪🏽

Thank you team and our early investors🙏🏽” – Maria Artunduaga
