MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The International Journal of Digital Health has published the 24-month clinical study results showing a sustained and significantly improved HbA1c result for people with diabetes utilizing the Pops Self-care Platform for self-management. https://www.graphyonline.com/archives/IJDH/2021/IJDH-107/

“These results show that when digital health solutions include proven medical science and promote frequent testing, such as Pops does, they can be a great complement to physicians to aid individuals with diabetes to achieve better outcomes,” said Tim Balder, MD and primary investigator

Key outcomes of the study showed a 1.3 point (17% reduction) reduction in HbA1c (the primary measure of glucose levels for people with diabetes), that improved outcomes were sustained for 24 months, and that those with a baseline HbA1c above 7.0% (indicating struggling to self-manage their diabetes) achieved a 32% improvement and reached an HbA1c level below the 7.0% recommended by the American Diabetes Association guidelines. The participants in the study utilized the Pops Self-care Platform, which includes an AI digital virtual health assistant surrounded by an ecosystem of simpler solutions including the Pops Rebel glucose meter.

“Rather than trying to more closely manage people with diabetes who are not achieving outcomes, as an industry we need to provider simpler and better self-care solutions,” said Lonny Stormo, Pops’ CEO. “I am most thrilled to see in this study how people, who were choosing not to manage their diabetes before their Pops use, now have been able to achieve life-changing results.”
