Paul Grand is the founder and CEO of MedTech Innovator, the largest and most impactful accelerator of medical technology in the world.

MedTech Innovator’s rigorous review process identifies and accelerates the most promising early-stage companies in the world. With a 5% acceptance rate, MedTech Innovator’s 717 graduates have collectively brought over 400 products to market, raised $9.5B in follow-on funding post-graduation, and improved millions of lives.

Prior to MedTech Innovator, Paul was a serial entrepreneur starting companies in the biopharma, medtech, and tech industries. He became a venture capitalist in 2005, when he joined RCT Ventures, an early-stage life science investor where he served as Managing Director. At RCT, Paul focused on medtech investments and sourcing innovation. He founded MedTech Innovator as a program within RCT Ventures in 2013 and left to run MedTech Innovator as a stand-alone company with RCT’s support in 2016. Paul became a member of the RCT Board of Directors in 2023.

Ken Nelson is a Partner at MedTech Advantage Fund with two decades of experience in digital health, medical devices, and remote monitoring. He has played a key role in the commercial success of some of the industry’s most disruptive technologies. Over the past 10 years, Ken has led go-to-market efforts in wearables and cardiac remote patient monitoring, helping build the teams and cultures behind three of the top four market share leaders: BioTelemetry (#1), iRhythm (#2), and Bardy Diagnostics (#4). His track record includes multiple successful exits, including BioTelemetry’s $2.8B acquisition by Philips and Bardy Diagnostics’ $400M+ acquisition by HillRom.​​

Ken also serves as a strategic advisor and judge for MedTech Innovator, the industry’s nonprofit global competition and accelerator for medical device, digital health, and diagnostic companies. Through this work, he supports the organization’s mission to improve patient lives by accelerating the growth of healthcare innovators.
