BioTools Innovator (BTI) is a new program powered by MedTech Innovator, the largest accelerator of life science startups in the world. The Associate Director designs and implements programs in order to foster the growth of startups in the life science tools and diagnostics spaces. The Associate Director works closely with all team members to ensure the success of our programs, events, and other special projects. The position requires creative problem-solving, superior multitasking and organizational ability, meticulous attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter with the passion and desire to grow within an exciting entrepreneurial environment and to make an impact on improving lives around the world. Potential Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution of all accelerator-related activities, including recruitment and selection, in-person and virtual curricula, innovator showcases, competitions, and networking events
- Establish program timelines and manage resources and personnel to ensure activities / tasks are on track to meet goals and deadlines
- Oversee day-to-day needs of the program by coordinating meetings, maintaining technical assets (i.e., website, database, event platforms), and resolving issues
- Serve as primary point of contact for program-related inquiries and manage external communications with key stakeholders to facilitate community building and engagement
- Prepare and maintain collateral for internal and external use such as surveys, diligence summaries, feedback reports, company lookbooks, and presentations
- Build and maintain key relationships with external partners
- Identify opportunities for program expansion and establish partnerships with industry supporters
- Represent BioTools Innovator externally by interfacing with existing and potential partners, moderating events, and serving on panels
- Work with COO in other capacities as needed to support BTI
Qualifications
Required
- PhD from an accredited university in Life Science, Business or related field
- Minimum 5 – 6 years of relevant experience (e.g., managing an entrepreneurship / educational program or membership organization with multiple stakeholders)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the biotech / life sciences industry (e.g., previously worked at a corporate, consulting, accelerator, incubator, or venture capital firm)
- Possess a large network of investors, entrepreneurs, and executives at different life science companies across the US and internationally
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and comfort with public speaking
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office / Google Docs and technical savvy to quickly pick-up other platforms
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

The annual salary range for this role is $105,000 – $150,000. The actual salary amount will vary depending on the applicants experience, skills and abilities as well as internal equity and market data.
