The Heart and Brain Health Accelerator powered by MedTech Innovator is led by American Heart Association in collaboration with the Association’s Studio Red. This track is designed to identify and support startups with novel medical technologies focused on heart and brain health — including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and secondary prevention. It is open to companies at the Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A stages.

    Call for applications

  2. January – May

    American Heart Association Ventures volunteer selection committee reviews applications and evaluates startup pitches at the MedTech Innovator Radar Forum. After the Radar Forum, cohort companies are selected.

  3. June – October

    Virtual accelerator, including customized mentorship, webinars and thought leadership

  4. October

    Participate in the MedTech Innovator Showcase at The MedTech Conference powered by AdvaMed, and compete for funding from a total pool of $700K+

  5. November

    Attend and Showcase at American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions Conference

Volunteer Selection Committee

An expert panel of clinicians, payers, strategists and entrepreneurs — convened by American Heart Association Ventures and the Association’s Center for Health Technology and Innovation — reviews applications and provides mentorship. Committee members attend pitch sessions (virtual or in-person) and guide selected companies throughout the accelerator program.
