Smart Health Innovation Lab, a market adoption accelerator for healthcare technologies located in Pennsylvania, opened their first state-of-the-art facility to showcase the innovative technologies that the lab plans to market by establishing a 12 week certification program.

The Lab was developed collaboratively by Aspire Ventures, Capital BlueCross, Clio Health, and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, This collaborative effort is working to advance cutting edge technology starting with inaugural efforts to focus on pain management and mental health.

The lab has attracted interest from top tier healthcare technology startups from across the U.S and abroad. After evaluating more than 30 finalists, two companies were chosen for the class of 2018 to include Emovi and Neuroflow

Emovi located in Canada, is an early stage medical device company that has developed a new knee care system called “KneeKG”. This device enables doctors for the first time to accurately assess patients’ knees in 3-D while the patient is moving.

In contrast to information from x-rays and MRIs, the device quickly identifies the functional causes linked to knee pain. Functional information is given to doctors with a higher correlation to symptoms and at a fraction of the cost of high tech scans.
