Hamilton company acquires Charlottesville-based UVA spin-off company Cerillo
Hamilton Company, a global life sciences and laboratory technology company specializing in designing and manufacturing precision instruments, automation systems and analytical technologies, has acquired Charlottesville-based, University of Virginia spin-off company Cerillo.
Cerillo was founded in 2016 by biomedical engineering professor Jason Papin, infectious diseases and international health professor emeritus Erik Hewlett and biomedical engineering alumnus and Cerillo’s Chief Technology Officer Kevin Seitter. The company got its start by rethinking lab equipment from a researcher’s perspective with the aim to make “common biological research tasks simpler, easier and more efficient, leading to more, better data.”
