MedTech Innovator / BARDA COVID 19 Online Pitch Event


On April 29 at 10:30AM EDT, MedTech Innovator held a high impact COVID-19 online event in partnership with Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). The goal of this special event is to scale or accelerate the deployment of innovative medtech solutions related to COVID-19. These are all solutions that are either already deployed or that can be rapidly deployed. After a lightning round of 1-minute pitches by the 16 presenting companies, 80 expert judges met in small groups with the startups to provide feedback, guidance, and access to resources to help these companies scale. Accuryn transforms any foley catheter into an AI-powered system that protects the kidney. With COVID-19, clinicians are running patients dry to keep fluid out of the lungs but wet enough to keep organs perfused. Accurate urine output is incredibly important. ICU teams with Accuryn do not have to enter the room every hour to ‘milk the drainage line’ and measure hourly Urine Output.
