Prapela has announced an exclusive global distribution agreement with GE HealthCare, showcasing its device in bassinets and GE Giraffe Care Stations at the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) annual meeting. Prapela’s therapeutic vibrational mattress pad, which has received FDA De Novo authorization for Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS), uses gentle stochastic vibrotactile stimulation to support infants’ physiologic stability without drugs. The agreement marks a major milestone for the pediatric startup, which has been supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
