Osteoboost has released findings from “The Menopause Bone Health Gap,” an independent research study highlighting gaps in bone loss prevention and treatment awareness.
The company, which has developed the first FDA-cleared vibrational device for osteopenia treatment, surveyed 1,053 US women to assess bone health awareness. The findings revealed that many women are unaware of osteoporosis-related fracture risks and how to support long term bone health.
Nearly 25% of survey respondents were surprised to learn that half of women over 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis. Meanwhile, prevention options require further education – nearly half said they would take vitamin D to protect their bones, while just 28% started strength training. Similarly, care remains inaccessible, as almost 20% had avoided seeing a physician or getting a bone scan due to cost.
