Newrotex has shared an early update from its first-in-human clinical trial of SilkAxons. The first cohort of patients has now reached the 6-month primary outcome milestone. To date, no adverse events have been observed, and all treated patients have already demonstrated meaningful functional recovery.
These cases all involved very large peripheral nerve gaps (8–10 cm), injuries that remain highly challenging to treat with existing standards of care. While the results are preliminary and the study remains ongoing, crossing this milestone safely and successfully represents an important step forward for the program.
