Nanochon’s first-in-human clinical trial has been officially listed on ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT07249489). Titled “A First in Human (FIH) Early Feasibility Study (EFS) to Evaluate the Safety and Performance of the Nanochon Chondrograft™ Implant for Re-surfacing of Cartilage Lesions,” the study will evaluate the safety and performance of the Chondrograft implant for knee cartilage lesions. The company plans to treat 10 patients aged 22–60 years and monitor safety for a 12-month period.
Nanochon’s Chondrograft has demonstrated the ability to integrate with native tissue and support regeneration in pre-clinical models. The company’s goal is to help patients return to an active lifestyle without an invasive joint replacement, and the listing is a crucial first step toward a pivotal trial and bringing its off-the-shelf 3D-printed implant into clinical use.
