How VB Spine is building an AR ecosystem featuring Augmedics
VB Spine’s co-CEO and global president discuss how CT-Fluoro technology, augmented reality navigation, and family ownership are shaping the company’s strategy in a consolidating market.
At the beginning of July, VB Spine, the largest privately held spine company, entered into an agreement to acquire the exclusive rights to Augmedics’ CT-to-fluoroscopy technology for spine applications.
In April, VB Spine also acquired the exclusive rights to the Augmedics’ xvision Spine System platform.
Using CT-Fluoro technology, surgeons are able to register a patient’s preoperative CT scan using standard fluoroscopic imaging, potentially eliminating the need for intraoperative CT or 3D imaging systems during spine procedures.
