Congratulations to our 2021 Grand Prize Winner – Opharmic Technology!
This year brought in a record number of applications with over 500 submissions from all across Asia Pacific as well as the US, Canada, and Europe. Twenty companies were selected to participate in the MedTech Innovator APAC Accelerator. Over three months, our companies competed for a coveted spot in the Finals Competition, which took place during The APACMed MedTech Forum on Wednesday, October 20 at 9AM SGT followed by the winner announcement the same day at 1:30PM SGT.
Our four finalists competed for a first prize of US $175,000:
- Biorithm – a comprehensive remote monitoring platform that combines wearable and data analytics for women with high-risk pregnancies. The company is based in Singapore.
- Miraqules – StopBleed, a product that stops post-traumatic bleedings in 40 seconds – five times quicker than existing solutions. The company is based in Bhubaneswar, India.
- Opharmic Technology – an ultrasonic non-invasive ocular drug delivery device with the goal of replacing intravitreal injections. The company is based in Hong Kong.
- VPIX Medical – cCeLL, a handheld fluorescence microscope that enables real-time intraoperative digital biopsy to allow for clean surgical margins. The company is based in Daejeon, South Korea.
