BioTools Innovator is a new program powered by MedTech Innovator, the largest life science accelerator in the world. Leveraging the successful model of our flagship program, BioTools Innovator is intended to support entrepreneurs that are developing a broad spectrum of biotechnology products, platforms and services.
BioTools Innovator recognizes the 10 best-in-class startups across the life science tools industry. Companies selected for this honor receive a slot in the BioTools Innovator accelerator, which provides high profile visibility and access to investors, stakeholders, decision makers; a network of mentors and peers; and participation in a customized educational curriculum. Additionally, accelerator companies compete for up to $200,000 in non-dilutive funding. Acceptance into the BioTools Innovator accelerator is based on the stage of the startup, with preference for companies that have not yet raised a Series B or established a significant strategic partnership.

The Road Tour is critical part of our selection process. All companies invited to pitch will be provided with PDF feedback summaries from our judges.

All early-stage founders developing tools and services for biotechnology, biomedicine, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Below is a list of of interest areas that our partners are specifically interested in:
Preferably, applicants will have prototypes and some proof of concept evidence, as well as the funds available / runway remaining to execute on current milestones.
Companies that are accepted to the program must commit a co-founder, CEO, or appropriate senior member of their leadership team to participate in the three-month virtual accelerator program and be present for the Showcase and Finals in mid-October (tentatively scheduled for October 15 in Carlsbad, CA).
Founders that have developed an applicable technology, but have not yet formed a company, may still apply. However, they must be incorporated as a company before the start of the Accelerator program. In partnership with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR), founders that apply to BioTools Innovator may receive complimentary legal services to incorporate their company (founders are only responsible for out-of-pocket costs).
